How are you holding up? If you're like me, you lost track of how many weeks we've been under lockdown a long time ago, and most days you have absolutely no idea what day it is. Monday feels like Saturday and Saturday feels like Wednesday. It also seems like a couple days go by but suddenly it's three weeks later. As I wake to another day, I question if I'm living the real world version of the movie Groundhog Day.
You know what keeps me strong? The memory of arriving at a new location, filled with the excitement of a child on Christmas morning, lacing up my hiking boots, throwing my camera bag onto my back, grabbing my tripod, and setting out on a magical path of discovery through the middle of pristine wilderness, eager to capture another taste of mother nature's magnificence.
I remember the aromatic scent of meandering pathways through soaring old growth forests and dense tropical jungles and the taste of crisp, clean air. I recall the initial sound and slightly increasing volume that's forever attached to approaching a hidden stream and recognize my heart racing with joy and expectation of what unknown majesty lies imminently ahead. I relive the feeling of refreshing windblown mist from towering Costa Rica waterfalls and meditatively gazing into the reflection of a perfectly still, glassy lake.
These are the sensations that I yearn for the most and would love to share with you. Obviously we are living with massive uncertainty and don't know when we will be able to experience these things again. Because of that, I've changed the normally non-refundable photo tour deposit to 100% refundable, so at least you have certainty about that.
I remain cautiously optimistic that we will be able to do our two October 2020 Oregon Fall Colors photo tours, but if that changes, we will adjust accordingly. If Costa Rica landscapes are calling your name, all our 2021 Costa Rica photo tours are booking now, too. Click the banner below to check out all the itineraries and reserve your spots today.
